Two Piers Housing Co-operative
Sustainable and Affordable Housing
for the Community
A co-operative is an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social and cultural needs and aspirations through a jointly-owned and democratically controlled enterprise.
Every month we will update the news page with the dates and venues of Management Meetings, Special General Meetings, Events and Parties. Also special training and vacancies open to full members.
Do you feel that you would be able to take part in a mutually beneficial enterprise like Two piers?
Why not come to one of our application meetings and see what you think.
Two Piers Housing Co-operative began in 1978, when our founder Brenda Boardman realised the need for single parent housing in Brighton. Two Piers was registered as a housing association in 1979.
At Two Piers we run our coop ourselves. There are no private landlords and fixed tenancies. Each of us owns a share and are collectively responsible for the management and maintenance of our homes.
Two Piers has 22 front doors, belonging to 4 renovated shared houses, 1 renovated house providing 7 self-contained flats and 1 new-build block of 11 flats. All the properties were completed by 1989.
